Cranston Fellows Jr. : Frostbitten Edition

Cranston Fellows Jr. : Frostbitten Edition
Originally uploaded by myplasticheart

Lou Pimentel and myplasticheart bring another Cranston Fellows Jr. to life! I have the first version which was the Hellfire Edition and was handpainted by Lou himself in a lovely neon orange color complete with charred horns and deep staring eyes.

No money for this though. Won't keep me from appreciating the paint job!

One Man's Interpretation of Physics and the Human Anatomy

Before you drift into a deep state of slumber, I promise you that this is not another monotonous science lesson. Antony Gormley makes biology fun!

Since 1990, he has been translating his creativity through sculptures inspired by his own body. Recently, Gormley has been creating sculptures that reflect energy fields and vectors (as portrayed in the photos above: Firmament II, Clearing IV, and Domain Field.) He enthralls art lovers everywhere: his creations have been displayed in museums in the US located in NY, LA, WA, CA and in other countries including Sweden, Germany, and Ireland.

The Bride, Oni, Samurai

The Bride, Oni, Samurai
Originally uploaded by grimsheep

I've always loved Grimpsheep's work and this new trio is no exception.

First up, we have his interpretation of Uma Thurmans, "The Bride" in a munny format.

Than we have a classical Oni figure done on a 3" dunny armed with a katana and with an ominous expression.

And finally, we have a classic Grimsheep-faced samurai Madl in traditional Japanese attire with huge ears and a matching headband.

Studio Nu-Fabric

Who can possibly hate this? Simple, clean graphics with great detail that doesn't detract from the overall flow of the entire picture. And the colors all work nicely together as well.

A darker piece of work that works just as well. Abstract shapes in the background give it some life as well as a sense of motion and activity in a 2d design.

Now, I have yet to develop my own style here but this design agency does some designs that I'd love to recreate with my own touch.

Graphic Hug: Yet another great site.

I don't even know what's made in London.

We love graphic design.

We love to hug.
We love to hug graphic design.

Graphic Hug introduces itself as such and the things they post are indeed very huggable. For example, these two pics depict just a small sample of the many things that they post on their wonderful blog. Now, someone needs to come up with a better "I Love New York face="trebuchet ms">

Non-Format

Pictured above is but a sample of a great showcase of works over at Non-Format. What I love about typography such as the one shown above is just the pure simplicity of the type in contrast of a subtle, yet complicated background. While I'm not crazy about seeing man nipples, the whole thing flows nicely with the contrasting weights of the "o" and the "t" on each side.
